For “Almanach 26,” Orson Gillick Morris (born in New York in 2002) is presenting Untitled 2026 (United States of Orson), a ninety-minute film produced specially for the exhibition. It is on view in the screening room at the Consortium Museum.

The film features a chronological series of photographs taken over the course of twenty months subsequent to the artist’s return to New York after eight years abroad. 

These photographs record his personal life and the subjective reality going on around him since his return. “My time in New York as an adult has overpowered anything I can remember as a kid—even though the time is only a fraction of the 14 years I spent growing up here.” 

In 2023, Orson Gillick Morris created the magazine Here and There, “a magazine about making a magazine”—a reflection on the act of producing. He contributes regularly to Interview magazine.
